Pietro J Ranieri III

Pietro has 10 years of experience on atmospheric pressure plasma biomedical and agricultural applications. His project work focused on sterilization of food and water, atmospheric plasma for cancer therapy and cellular stimulation, nitrification of water for agriculture, and plasma-treatment of aerosols. His research work detailed the delivery of plasma-generated species and their interactions with biological substrates. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, his Master’s in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Plasma Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics from Drexel University. He did his postdoctoral work in plasma medicine and agriculture at North Carolina State University.
