Jeff Piascik, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Research and Development at APS. He earned his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University and his PhD in Applied and Materials Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With a career spanning more than 25 years, Jeff has extensive experience in manufacturing, corporate R&D, and academia. His expertise encompasses concept development, product management, commercialization, and securing funding from federal, foundation, and corporate partnerships totaling over $250M.

Jeff has played a pivotal role in numerous government and commercially funded projects focused on plasma technologies across various domains including microelectronics, biomedical applications, surface functionalization, and biofilm mitigation. He is a co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and holds 7 patents in the fields of plasma science, microelectronics, and organic waste treatment.
