Jason Stimson earns AMPP/NACE Coating Inspector certification

The APS team now has a resident coating inspector with Jason Stimson recently completing the NACE Coating Inspector Program – Level 1 and achieving certification number 105012. From this extensive 5-day course of corrosion theory and practical inspection tool use, Jason can now perform basic non-destructive inspections of liquid coatings applied by brush, roller, or spray to steel surface under supervision of a level 2 or 3 inspector when working in a shop setting or a level 3 inspector when working in a field setting. Although the certification is valid for 3 years, he is already putting this new understanding to excellent use as the team continues the construction of their in-the-works AMPP standard on the use of atmospheric plasma technology for surface preparation.
